This week f
or race day we were on the Lorne rapid racing house to house for the win in a huge 4 leg race. After Lunch we scouted the rapid for the best line, split into our different houses and choose which legs of the race we were going to run. The first leg of the race consisted of one or two people in each house starting on shore and racing to get in our kayaks, once in your kayak we had to race across the rapid and boof off a ledge to a check point. The second group then had to paddle out into the current across the river and tag a check point on the river right side, after successfully tagging te first check we then had to paddle down stream to tag the next check point. The third group then had to paddle into the current and down to a sand island in the flat water, once they tagged the boat on the sand island they then had to back paddle all the way to the next little rapid down stream, once there they had to jump out of there boats and run across an island to tag the last person in the house. The forth and final group of people then had to surf out onto a wave and successfully do a spin staying in the wave before they could paddle down stream to the finish line.

In the end Istanbul took the win for the day and concluded our last race day here at keeners.
