Whirlpool Rescue Fail By:Olivia Summerfield

Today was race day at camp.  One of the races was rescuing a swimmer in whirlpools. The goal was to get the swimmer and all of their gear to the shore in as little time as possible.   Team South-eastern Shredders did not rescue their swimmer (Albert) very well.  Albie swam and Rachel got him to shore fine.  Cat and Olivia tried to get Ablie's boat, but Cat got caught in a whirlpool, lost her paddle, flipped, and swam.  So, they had two swimmers, one swimmer was on the right shore and everyone else, plus all the gear was on the opposite shore.  Albie had to swim all the way across the river and the whirlpools to get to his gear and finish the race.  The moral of this story is to always keep a hold of your paddle while rescuing people.  Also try your best not to flip in whirlpools.
