The Elephant in the Room: What it's Like Not Being at Keeners - Savannah Westeinde

Everyone always talks about what it's like at keeners, but no one ever talks about what it's like not to be at keeners. Ever since last year when I was in the third session of keeners, I have spent every waking moment thinking about keeners. Sitting at the back of a class room listening to my teacher yammer on about history (which of course is important) I would think back to those warm summer days on the Ottawa river. Paddling all day every day with amazing people is something that not many people get to experience and I have been fortunate enough to be one of those few. I'm sure many other keeners can relate to the fact that when not at keeners, time is spent watching keener videos or just watching kayaking videos/movies in general and thinking about keeners. Once you have had such an unforgettable experience, every day life just seems bland and boring. My poor friends have had to put up with me talk about keeners 24/7 and half the time they have absolutely no idea what I'm saying because they don't paddle. I'm sure It was quite annoying to listen to me talk on and on and on about keeners and I am so grateful to them for putting up with me. Thankfully I am finally here back at keeners, and ready for another amazing session!
