How to Keep the Mice Out of One's Food - Daniel Mills-Thysen

So at Keeners, one of the many things we sacrifice to be able to paddle the incredible Ottawa River with some of the best coaches in the world is the ability to live a rodent-free life. Last year, I wrote a blog about how to mice, but this year the subject is how to keep them out of one's food.

Step 1: Keep it in a mouse-proof container, such as a plastic box, refrigerator, or freezer. This is the easiest and most obvious step to keep your food safe.

Step 2: Mice do not like the scent of peppermint. So while this method has not been scientifically proven to work by me, according to some people it does.

Step 3: Call a professional exterminator! If the mouse problem reaches epic proportions, it may be time to call in the pros (even though they will do the exact same things you would to catch mice, and are not available at Keenerville).

Step 4: Enjoy your mouse-free life. Even though mice are cute and all, living a mouse-free life is rather preferable to living a mousy one.
