my last day -Marko

Yesterday was big water beat down thursday, it was provably the most fun day of my Keeners so far. My first run was straight into right side phil's witch was actually insanely fun, there I realized that all my worrying was stupid and no matter what I'll be fine. From then on the day was great, I went on to try to make the punch line by myself, and try to make the hero fairy. I got the phills punch right, but ended up surfing left side when I tried the hero fairy.

Today is my last day at keeners, my mom and brother will come pick me up and I will be off to a boy scout camp. Keeners didn't only help me become a better kayaker, it helped me become a better person, through thick and thin I have learned so much. I've learned about living with others, river safety and probably most importantly how to have more fun on the river. The decision to do Keeners was probably one of the best decisions of my life, and I would advise to anyone wanting to become a better person and have a ridiculously fun time to come to Keeners.

Taking a shower in approximately four seconds. By Marko Suchy

Yesterday was my first shower here at keeners, it wasn't the best experience to say the least. There is a long line when it comes to showers here at the whitehouse, usually someone calls first shower at the takeout spot, but the shower line generally disintegrates by the time we get back home. It's hard to find the time to take a shower between all the meetings at the thunderdome, the paddling, and all the other people trying to squeeze in a shower before dinner or bed. When the opportunity to take a shower presents itself to you, you need to pounce, you need to be aggressive, otherwise someone will steal your thunder, and maybe your soap. So let's say you've made you claim and taken a stand for yourself, now you have a spot in the shower. Once in the shower, you have to do a little shimmy of sorts to get close enough to the wall to catch what little water the shower head does produce and wash yourself. you'll have hot water for about four seconds, so you better make good use of it. Now it's time to really show the shower what you're made of, you can choose either to wash yourself as fast as possible and just accept that it may not have been the most thorough wash, or you can endure through the frigid pain and clean yourself very well. once you've raced the water, you wrap your towel around yourself and try to clean up the shower as much as possible so no one can pin the shower being dirty on you. This is a shower in the life of a keener(for those who decide to take them)  even though it may not be the most pleasurable experience, it is a very important routine and without it, many keeners would smell atrocious
