Kayak Polo by Will Gillespie
One of the other sports I play kayak polo. Disclaimer: This is how we play in Alexandra. There are some differences between this and the actual rules. Now on with the blog
Our pool size for a kayak polo field is 25m by i think 15 m though it's supposed to be bigger. At each end of the field a goal is suspended 2m above the water. The front of the goal is the out line for each end of the field. There is a halfway line across the pool at the middle of the 25 m. 6m from the goal there is also another line. If you are in between this line and the goal you are allowed to push other people with your boat and hands. No paddles though. The ball that you play with is similar to a volleyball though more grippy. Each team has 4 players on the field at one time. There can be a couple sit ready to come onto the field. Each player wears a pfd and a helmet with a face guard to protect against actacdental paddle attacks. Thank you for reading.
