What to do when you’re not paddling on the weekends- Julia Frangenberg

  1. Salvage whatever cooking ingredients you can find that haven’t already been eagerly devoured by your fellow cabin mates and attempt to create a culinary masterpiece by the end of the day. Who says cucumbers and pancake mix don’t go well together? When all else fails, break out the slightly charred oatmeal from the oven you almost lit on fire and feast for days! (Don’t forget to turn off the oven)
  2. Figure out how to work the very large, slightly outdated box television in yakistan while simultaneously testing each disc to see which ones are in the best condition to watch. Once you’ve mastered the inner workings of the box tv, pop a disc in and enjoy a nice long keener classic chick flick! If the movie pauses at any point because of the scratches in the disc, wiggle your fingers and work some voodoo magic until the movie starts playing again and it’ll be good as new!
  3. Grab some zen music and head to the swim rock for a couple of hours to relax on the rocks and splash around in the water. If you don’t know how already, attempt to teach yourself to dive by belly flopping into the water with your hands pointed downward. Once you start to turn red from hitting the water so many times, spread a towel out on the ground and bask in the glory of the sun for a while and question the mysteries of life.

When the weekend is finally over, you’ll be able to kayak and cook at the same time, protect your head by NOT diving into the water, and navigate the maze of retro technology! Happy weekending!
