Carson Jacobs- returning to wilderness tours

Returning to wilderness tours

I have always had a passion for water, wether it be in the ocean, lakes and rivers. I grew up on Puslinch lake and lived my whole life around the water. I first found my love of kayaking and whitewater last year, when I joined the teen camp. It was a very easy program and I learned quickly. I wanted to better my skills, and the only way to do that was to join keeners. Mostly all of the keeners are far better paddlers then me but that gives me more of a motivation. All of the guys here are chill and easy to get along with. Waking up at 7:45 every morning is difficult but will help me get in the routine when school rolls around. The Ottawa river always amazes me with the power it holds, its Scary but at the same time has me wanting more. Last year the biggest rapid I went down was Statler’s, so going straight down the main was a little sketchy for me. I would never back down from a challenge and the Ottawa river was a challenge. Although I’m tired, I will always have the urge to keep padding.
