Today we learned how to double pump into a bow stall, this is one of the most crucial tricks for flat water free styling. This simple trick sets you up for many tricks such as a loop cartwheel and so on.
For an odd reason I am left handed at writing, however for most sports I am right handed. While kayaking is a sport I should be right handed but my lean cleans are left, and double pumps are right. Doing lean cleans are the foundation for double pumps and cartwheels the trouble for me is that the are opposites I can’t lean clean to the right to the do a double pump.
This troubling situation is holding me back in learning one of my main goals of doing a flat water loop and is now interfering with my progression. However my kayak instructors are very helpful and I am slowly but surely getting closer to this groundbreaking trick.
