Dents in my boat make me sad-Ollie Jones

Today was Thursday. If you don’t know what Thursday means in the keeners program it is big water bacon beat down Thursday. In this day the goal is to try knew things and get beat down in big trashy holes. When we were looking at Mc coys rapid on the from I was really just zoning out imagining getting beat down in Phil’s with everyone cheering. Little did I know it was not all smiles and laughs. Later that morning we swam the rapid and had a lot of fun going deep. I was so hyped for my beat down and could not wait to get in my boat and fire it up. And the top of the Eddie I watched hunter go over the horizon line into Phil’s. I was really really exited to see him come out cheering. However after a while I heard a whistle and saw him swimming. That really got me scared because hunter is very very good and if he swam I was worried what would happen to me. When it was ready for me to drop into right side Phil’s without a paddle I peeled out and made sure to stay on line. I came over the horizon line and saw a wall of crashing foam blocking my path. Hitting that backwash was like being in a car crash. It was just a huge hit and no matter what you do it still doesn’t prepare you for the hit into Phil’s. When I first hit it within about a second I was already tumbling. After a couple second I got a breath and tumble again. This went on for a little bit until I got flushed out. I was super stoked until I found out I had a big dent on the bow of my boat. I was really mad and even though I knew we could pop it out I was still pretty upset. Later that night Stephen took a heat gun and completely put it back to normal. All in all I was upset during the day but when my boat was fixed I realized it was one of the sickest beat downs I’ve ever had.
