Meeting new people is a very important thing to do.It can also be super fun. If you were to not want to meet new people, that person that you saw on the river could potentially be the best friend that you never will have. A strange experience happened to me a little before keeners. I was in the Columbus on the Chattahoochee river. While I was paddling around, I saw this kid who looked to be about my age and about my skill level. I said a few words to him, but we never really talked that much. Little did I know, I had made a big mistake. A while after I was in Columbus, I arrived in Ottawa, excited for keeners to begin. This was my first time at keeners, so I didn’t know many people other than the few camp friends that also came. As I arrived to Wilderness Tours, I saw this kid and immediately recognized him as the kid I talked to in Columbus. His name was Dano and he turned out to be a pretty cool guy. If Dano had not gone to keeners, I would have missed out on having a great friend who also happens to be a great kayaker. Meeting new people is usually a great experience and can change you and someone else’s lives.
