The weekends are very special times at keeners. People like to relax and hang out with their friends, eat, listen to music, that sort of thing.
On the weekends we sleep in, although most wake up before 11 if they decide to go kayaking. On Saturday a few friends and I paddled down the main channel at about 11:30, surfed, got burgers from the lunch spot, and paddled down. We played at brain douche for a bit, then went down to the jump rock. We each jumped a few times, then we spotted a creek just downstream and across the river from the jump rock. We paddled over to it, and got out of our boats to see what was upstream. It was flatwater for a while but then we saw a sick looking drop. There was a slide that was about 8 feet, into a 4 foot drop. We were deciding if we should run it or not, in the end we decided not to because it was very shallow. We looked upstream a little bit and saw a deer skeleton. Which is always neat. We then paddled down, through Coliseum and to the takeout. When the raft trip got there we helped them as mush as we could, putting rafts on the trailer and telling rafters where to put their gear. We then had a painfully long and awkward conversation with 2 of the raft guides before finally getting in the truck and driving back. There were too many of us to fit in the truck so Max and I got to ride in the bed, on top of the rafters life jackets.
Once we arrived at Keenerville it was all relaxing and chill until lights out.
