The Most Dangerous Rapid on the Ottawa

There are many rapids on the Ottawa river that you can get trashed and beat down in.  But by far the most dangerous rapid on the river only comes in around negative three feet.  It is the very last rapid below Blacks.   You think you are done and then you get slammed by this rapid.  The rapid comes right after you have passed over/ around some very inconveniently and purposely placed rocks.  You see the horizon line and it doesn’t seem very big but it’s not until you drop in that you realize what you have gotten yourself into.  The rapid has no name but is super gnar.  This rapid is a mosh pit of rocks.  It is about six inches deep and even shallower in some spots.  The line is straight down the middle dodging as many rocks as possible.  Resist the urge to rock spin on the top rock because you will get pinned.  This rapid is super dangerous because of the consequences.  If you flip you will be drug across the bottom of the river until you slam back into the flat water and are able to roll or swim.  It is also dangerous because of the many fabulous pin spots.  There are many in that rapid and it is possible to get pinned both upside down and right side up.  It is truly astounding.  This super stout rapid however is not named.  I have many ideas for what this rapid should be named.  My top three ideas are Takeout Express, The Pin of Destiny or Blindside. This is the most simple but most dangerous rapid on the whole river.  Good luck and don’t flip.
