Why beaters should stick together. - Tanner Tito

First let’s define what a beater is in kayaking terms. On a very basic level a beater is someone with a low skill set that tends to hang out with higher skilled people. But there are many flaws to hanging out with higher skilled people.

These flaws include:
  1. Pushing you too hard and putting yourself in an uncomfortable position that the “beater” is not ready to face.
  2. The skilled person could take the “beater” down a big rapid and the unskilled person could get hurt.

The importance for a beater to stick with a beater:

If a beater is with another beater then they will both progress together! Just like a family!! Also if two beaters stick together then they don’t feel like are too bad at the sport because they are on the same level.

The purpose behind me writing this blog is because I am a beater and I accept that. I am looking for a fellow beater to paddle with and maybe one day the beater world will be balanced.
