The Art of Send by Carsten Dowdy

Your heart races as you scout the rapid. Masses of water rushes over rock as you take in all the consequences of missing your line. You imagine your line down to every specific paddle stroke and you know what it will take to run it. You know what edge you will have to set and where you must drop it. Feeling somewhat confident you hop into your boat and stare at the menacing horizon line in the distance where the world seems to drop away. You splash water in your eyes to make sure you are fully awake for the rapid that lies below you. As you approach the horizon line your mind fades away and all you can focus on is what lies before you. You drop with the water and become one with the environment you find yourself in. The rapid moves fast but your visualaztion of the line before and your instincts and past experiences in similar environments allows you to hit it perfectly. You meet your friends in the eddy at the bottom and the stoke is ever so present. Everyone is hype and the memories will last forever.
