Why I want to come back to keeners by Reilly Osborne

For the last 3 summers, I've gone to a lot of kayaking camps. I've gone backwoods camping by the Penobscot River in Maine, and I've also spent countless hours exploring my local river, the Deerfield. In the past, whenever I've been to a camp advertised as class IV teen kayaking, and end up kayaking with people who have never been on the river before. I still had a great time, because any kayaking is good kayaking, and for me paddling with someone my own age is an experience as rare as it is fun. That's what kept me coming back to those camps in the past. I had a great time, but didn't develope much as a paddler. At keeners however, I've run some of the hardest whitewater I've ever seen, as well as massively progressed in my playboating. The coaches are amazing and somehow always positive despite putting up with 21 teenagers all day. These make Keeners an amazing camp, but they're not the reason I want to come back next year. I want to come back to keeners because I can do what I love with people my own age. Other teenagers who I can understand and relate to. My favorite part of kayaking is doing it with my friends. In three weeks at keeners I've made so many friends, and have so much fun with them, whether we're running class I or a 40 ft slide. I want to come back to keeners because it makes me love and appreciate kayaking so much more than I already do, and I didnt think that was possible
