A year ago I hopped on a plane headed towards Ottawa, to paddle the Ottawa river with a camp called Camp Falling Creek. The first day on the water I noticed the keeners, I noticed how incredible they were paddling and how much fun they were having on the river. I wanted that to be me, the program I was currently in (Camp Falling Creek) is a great program but I was ready to take it to the next level and that meant Keeners. It was the perfect fit it had everything I wanted, it had the coaches, the Ottawa and the rigor of kayaking I was prepared for.
After the trip/later that year I made the decision to sign up for keeners. I chose to do first session because of how the water levels would be different from when I last went to the Ottawa which was during the end of July (around -1). The goal was to have a totally different experience on a magical river like the Ottawa. So far 1 week into keeners it has been a totally different and truly amazing experience.
