How keeners changed my life-By Fergal McConvey

Before I came to keeners I saw kayaking as a fun and enjoyable pastime that my friends and I could do together. Throughout my 3 years of kayaking I entered into 3 freestyle competitions during festivals however they were not serious and no thought went into my run because i just wanted to do them as a mess around or for fun.
A few months before keeners I tried to do at least 1 session of freestyle a week, which consisted on my brother and I going down to the canal and doing flat water, even though I wasn't in a feature flat water is better than nothing and having the basics in flat water I could easily transfer them to a feature.
When I arrived in canada I knew it was going to be an amazing experience and that what i was about to learn would change kayaking for me forever as I was surrounded by other keeners that are as eager as myself. By far the best coaches in the world. And as unbelievable river in our back garden to play in.
I still have 1 more week left and I will for sure make the most out of it and try to improve my skills to bring back home to the local rivers.
