How to surf Big kahuna by-Elliott Bonnough

This is on Coliseum rapid on the Ottawa river. When you come up to coliseum rapid you got to watch out for white face monster it's a big poor over ledge and it is really shallow and if you get in it you will get hurt. Some of the good levels are 10 and below is good for surfing. You don't want to swim out of this rapid there are a lot of poor over ledges and you can get hurt. When it's a lot lower levels there is a lot of fun lines like the melt down and punching threw some waves.

Step1 is have a good roll
And to be able to roll in big rolling waves.

Step2
You can ether catch the eddy right beside the wave or you can catch it on the fly. I think it's easier to catch it form the eddy.

Step3 if your in the eddy your going to see a little curling wave your going to paddle all the way out there and make sure your stern is on it then it will take you right out to the wave

Step4 if your catching it on the fly your going to come up this big wave then hurry up and turn around and start paddling hard it's going want to push you off so keep paddling to the left.

Step5 hold on it's going to be a rough ride. It might make you get really big air or make you flip.

Step6 throw your tricks fast and then work back to the right. It's hard to stay on this wave but it's really big and a lot of fun to surf.
