Timing is key.
In kayaking timing is crucial . Good timing could be the difference between a good boof and a failed boof attempt where you plug instead, or even the difference between landing your trick or waisting a good bounce on your pass.
Sadly timing is something that mostly just takes practice so always work on your timing.
Timing is important for practically every type of kayaking.
Here are a couple examines.
In slalom you must time your draw so that you are in the middle of the gate and that you haven't slide to far or turned way before the upstream gate.
Even a role requires timing. Most people can role with out thinking about it it is subconscious to them but if you have ever tried to teach someone how ro role you would know it takes good timing ro coordinate the hip flic with the pull on the paddle.
An other good example of a trick that requires timing is a kick flip. Although kick flips are simple in nature it is harder to time it correctly to make the most out of your attempts. In my opinion the hardest part of a kick flip is deciding when to go for it.
So all that just to tell you that timing is key
