Coming to the Ottawa- Marcus Loving

Coming to the Ottawa for the first time has been quite an amazing experience.  Many things on this river are very different from anything that i have ever done before.  The entire river is bigger than anything i have ever experienced before.  The size of the rapids alone can be overwhelming and even slightly frightening but, after completing them it leaves you with a deep sense of satisfaction.  Though the rapids are big i never feel that i am unsafe.  The coaches and my fellow keeners always help to make me feel safe, and to have fun on the river.
During my  time on the river so far i have done many different things and, have gotten a chance to experience the Ottawa at the high water flows that we are currently experiencing.  This has proven to be a lot of fun.  Though some of the rapids have washed out there are still plenty of spots to play and have fun. So far we have had the chance to surf "Bus Eater", which is not usually around during this time of year.  We have also had competitions such as the freestyle competition we had on "Butterfly Wave".  I have learned many new things and made leaps and bounds in my kayaking during the week that i have been here. I am looking forward to learning more and gaining more experience on this amazing river.
