Tim on Thursday!

Hey, It's Tim from NYC.  This is my second year as a keener. Today was Thursday, just an average day of the week for most, but for us Keeners a chance to brave the river gods in Phil's Hole on a day known as Big Water Bacon Beatdown Thursday.  Every Thursday we start our day off right with bacon.  Today,  Edward and I made candy Bacon preparing ourselves for a great kick off to the Thursdays that would follow.  Today I received the biggest beatdown award tying for a first place finish with a hand paddle (without my paddle) beatdown, which lead to my first swim in a year.  After a minute of pure terror being tossed and flipped, breathless, I pulled my skirt and swam.  There was no escape from Phil's, at least in my boat.  Overall a great day, once again a great experience from the Ottawa.
