Georges blog

First  week of Keeners was a success! The progression that me and all of the campers have made is shocking, but should have been expected with some of the biggest names in white water kayaking as our instructors and role models on the river. The focus has mainly been on freestyle wave surfing which isn't one of my strong points at the moment although i can slowly feel my comfort level of big wave surfing increasing. My personal highlight of the week was on Thursday, known here as big water beat down day. The idea of it is to go as far out of your comfort level as possible to gain confidence and progress. I think the idea of beat down Thursday is great because either way you gain something from it whether its the feeling of accomplishment for conquering a new and challenging line,  or the feeling of new gained respect for the hole the beat you down. Definitely looking forward to what comes next week.

Showing off the Alpine Butterfly Knot.
Thanks, George.
