Tips to living in Istambul
For those of you who don’t know, Istambul is the bunkhouse located behind Robertsons, next to Nighthawk’s cabin. It is the oldest of the 4 men's cabins, as well as the best, easily. Its maximum capacity is 6 people, however, the cabin functions best with 1 person. The conditions are quite unique in Istambul. The cabin sees temperatures and conditions similar to that of the capital city of Turkey, Istanbul. The cabin is very hot, however, it does have a lot of windows, these windows should always be open in a desperate attempt to cool the cabin. Another challenge is the fact that we are located about 100ft (3048 centimeters for Canadians and James). Istambul has a dedicated bathroom, with the entrance on the outside of Robertsons, this is very nice except the bathroom always smells like doo doo. However, when it is clean, this is a much smaller problem. My third and absolutely not final problem is the bug net situation. On the first night, we all had to install massive bug nets over each entire bed to prevent us from being eaten alive in our sleep. The bug nets work properly about 83% of the time, good, but I’d prefer if the cabin kept bugs out the same way all other buildings do. We had a door problem but it was fixed so good job Sydney on that one.
