How to run elevator shaft- Daniel Hilleke
Elevator shaft is one of the most intimidating lines on garvins rapid. When scouting elevator shaft it looks much scarier then it actually is if you know what’s below you. on the left there is a massive hole coming off of dragons tounge, the most difficult lines on garvins. When you get on the rock that you scout elevator shaft from you can break the rapid down, first you will see two small yet effective holes on the top. the holes result in problems such as shifting your position or flipping you. After the holes you take a big right stroke to launch you over a 4-5 foot waterfall. After the first two steps, if done perfectly, you will be set on a tounge going next to a big hole on one side and a shallow scetchy side on the other. When done with that you will see a huge hole but don’t worry about it because it will be very hard to reach it from elevator shaft. The end of the rapid is just a chaotic mess of whirlpools and boils.
