A Keener Guide to Beatdowns- Olivia Norman

I'm sure that you have heard many keener stories of Big Water Beat down Thursday's, but I am about to tell you how to approach the day with the keener outlook on getting trashed in a wave or hole. No matter where you come from, getting stuck in your boat somewhere that might keep you is generally not encouraged. Here at keeners however, getting stuck somewhere is sometimes seen as a goal or an event that you would be congratulated for. But that is not to be misinterpreted, the coaches at keeners are world renowned and they put your safety first. The main goal of this outlook on beat downs is to celebrate failure so that you can learn, and to desensitize yourself to situations where you may not feel comfortable, so you can know your limits, and roll back up safely. Failure is very important for learning new skills, and therefore you can try your hardest and never be embarrassed. This can vastly improve river running and creeking skills, so that you know what you're capable of. In conclusion, Keener Beat downs are nothing to worry about, get excited, because you are safe, and you can handle situations that you may never have been in before.
