Hello my name is Kate Johnson. I am the oldest keeners in the group but by no means am I the most skilled. I am fairly new to the kayaking world but I really enjoy it so for. Naturally I am finding the first few days very challenging and at times frustrating, but I keep reminding myself 'no risk no reward' and get back up. My dad describes my first few days here at keeners as "being thrown on a triple black dimond trying to leard how to snowboard. I.E. Stupidly hard and will take time but once you get it you will get it at an advanced level learning super fast." I really hope I get to the point where I get it!
Today a group of us did our first day of SRT and it was so much fun! We leaned about safety on the river and different kinds of rescues, then we practiced a tun of rescues. I'm pumped for the next lesson in srt when we get to practice more advanced rescues!
